Has anyone driven from Barcelona to Nice? If so, how long of a drive?

Trying to decide between taking a train part way (to Montpelier, France) and then drive the rest of the way to Nice or just rent a care from Barcelona if the route is not too circuitous and confusing.

I would take the train if I were you, very confusing to drive and you can relax on the train, you can always rent a car upon arrival.

It's an absolutely awesome drive! But for the life of me I cannot remember how long it takes! Do yourself a favor and map it on mapquest just for kicks and to give you a rough time estimate, but then ask your hotel concierge in Barcelona and I am sure they'll give you a better route as the scenery is too delightful to go in a hurry!
