I know Fuerte is a windy island but I have read that the winds are quite calm around Jan/Feb. What was it like when you went?

In general, what was the weather like?
We are thinking about going to the Costa Caleta area (if anyone has been here and can comment)? Furthermore, we are thinking about booking one of these hotels: Elba Sara or Elba Carlota... anyone been to any of these? Any recommendations?

Back to weather, I have been to Spain in Feb, June, July and August... so i can judge what the weather is going to be like in Fuerteventura in Jan/Feb it would be very helpful if you could compare to Spain somehow (maybe a tall order...?)

Thank You!

Hi Cassy,

Fuerteventura is quite a bit further south than mainland Spain and therefore has higher temperatures. In Jan/Feb, you can expect at least 20 degress centigrade during the day... and no less than 15 at night. As you mentioned though, there is often a wind and evenings can therefore feel chillier than they actually are... so take a cardigan! There is very little rain all year round and so you would be unlucky to get more than a day or two of rain at most.

As for the island itself, it is really beautiful with fantastic beaches. Check out my panoramic photos of Fuerteventura here: http://www.360travelguide.com/360VirtualTour.asp?iCode=fue1a

Have a great trip!
