I think this really has more to do with where you buy it from and not just airlines.
I've purchased roundtrip to japan for 450 in august using NW. Now I'm using United for 550. from the same travel agency. Check around different websites( not the big name brand ones they usually are a little more expensive than the smaller travel agencies).

Almost all the Airlines have some sort of deals on international trips..
For example if you wish to fly to London from JFK there would be tons of airlines competing the route..so there is a better chance of getting a deal on that route..
If you are flying to London.. I would pick airlines like Air-india, Biman, PIA,Air-lanka, Singapore, Thai Airlines as they stop for refueling in Europe on route to their home destinations, so they might pick some passengers going to Europe.

Ive seen really good deals on Singapore airlines and Korean airlines for travel to East Asia. However, they have some good deals on Cathay ...depends on what time of the year you are traveling.
